About Me
Hi! My name’s Darcy and welcome to my site! I have been Cabin Crew since 2016 and am a qualified Personal Trainer. I have a huge passion for helping cabin crew to balance the flying lifestyle whilst creating and maintaining healthy nutrition habits and training schedules.
Currently 27 years old, I have been going to the gym (admittedly, on and off) since I was 16. I was very all-or-nothing… I would go for a few months and then when I missed 1 session I would stop completely. However, I really got into it consistently during covid, but I had no clue what I should be doing and would just wander around the gym using random equipment that was free, and would NEVER step foot in the ‘scary’ free weights area with all the barbells and dumbbells and people that knew what they were doing, unlike me. So, when I started following a structured training program in 2022 and learned a lot more about how to lift and what exercises to do, I just fell in love with it.
I was still flying full-time up until 2023 (now part-time), and really struggled to balance the training sessions with the jet lag, landing days, different gyms downroute, as well as creating healthy nutritional habits. The constant aircraft food and poor eating choices downroute (hello Cheesecake Factory!) meant I struggled to see the results of my hard work in the gym. This is where I learned that how you eat really determines how you look… simply working out is not enough. I started meal prepping, taking my own food to work and where I could downroute, but I wasn’t tracking my calories or what I was eating and found myself a bit stuck. I wanted to lose weight, to look fitter, to feel confident sat by the pool in a bikini but I wasn’t sure how to do it.
At the start of 2024 I decided to hire a coach. Someone who could keep me accountable, hold my hand through it and create a plan for me so that all I had to do was follow what she said. I was given tailored calories and macro goals, a training plan to suit my style and abilities, steps/cardio goals, weekly check ins and constant access to her for support and guidance. I wish I had known about coaches sooner because it got me out of that rut of sticking to a diet for 2 weeks at a time and then giving up, only to cycle back to it months later and be in this constant place of feeling like I was going nowhere. Having someone to answer to and hold me accountable without judgements made all the difference and I hit my goals: I lost 8 kilos, looked lean and did a fitness photoshoot.
All of this to say, my own fitness journey and struggles has made me so passionate to be that person for other cabin crew: someone who understands the tolls of the job, how hard it can be and how adaptable you need to be. So I have created Darcy Munn Fitness, a platform to coach other cabin crew and shift workers into how to balance training, healthy nutrition choices and unsociable working hours, to create a balanced lifestyle that reaches the goals you thought were unattainable. This has been 2 years of hard work in the process: hours and hours of training courses, content creation, filming over 800 form videos for the exercise library in my training app, creating a recipe book with low-calorie high-protein meals in mind and writing up comprehensive guides that I’ve poured all of my knowledge into.
If you can relate to the struggles I had and are looking for somebody to walk you through your fitness journey with compassion and expertise, then book in a free consultation call with me now and we can talk about your goals and create a roadmap of how to get you there, together.
